This recent CANA weekend (2-3 December) is one of the beautiful fruits of World Youth Day - the WYD in the summer of 2023 in Portimão and Lisbon! Following contacts made on the spot, Portuguese couples are discovering CANA and CANA is discovering this new country. What a wonderful promise!
The CANA team at Les Pothières (the CANA house near Lyon) wishes you a very happy Christmas and New Year 2024. Before looking ahead, we wanted to take a look back at the last twelve months to understand how the Lord led his CANA mission in 2023.
On the occasion of its 2023 Jubilee, the Chemin Neuf Community, from which CANA has its origin, revisits its history in FOI magazine. It is illustrated by a large colourful tree with many roots and branches – including CANA, surrounded by other trees.... In this special issue, we hear from many couples who have been through CANA! Together with the Community, we have chosen to celebrate this double jubilee year with a very special testimony, freely available to readers of CANA.
In the heart of the Swiss mountains, to the south of Lucerne, the monastery of Bethanien is the ideal base for a four-day hike as a couple, following a programme that combines personal and spiritual journeys. Silvère and Anny LANG have extended a warm invitation to us, encouraging us to dare the adventure!
There's a time for everything! In tune with today's young couples, CANA is renewing itself with CANA REFRESH. In a Catholic parish near Lyon, the first two stages have been completed. After a time of listening and discernment, it's now time to act!
In October, teams from Uganda (including the 11 dioceses), Kenya, Zimbabwe and Tanzania met to work, share and listen to each other. They were able to take part in a training session led by Gilles CORMIER and Sister Marie BOURBONNAIS.
In September, Gilles & Véronique CORMIER visit Latvia and its CANA team for the first time. They were able to welcome the new leaders and to guide them within this new responsibility in CANA. In this article, they share the good moments they lived together, as well as the difficulties that the couples go through in this country.
In Burundi, from 31 July to 6 August, there were two special CANA Weeks for couples from the GITEGA and MUYINGA vicariates. In all, 95 couples responded to God's invitation, along with more than 60 servants, and the Lord was generous and faithful.
