Amoris Laetitia: It’s already been 10 years since Pope Francis issued this apostolic exhortation on “the joy of love”! What if our relationship were to draw inspiration from it?
We have concluded our seventh monthly CANA Parents meeting, which took place in Abidjan! CANA Parents is a school for parents—a year-long program of training, sharing, and prayer—held in a warm and welcoming atmosphere to help strengthen and deepen family relationships.
The 1,2,3… CANA weekends, which began on February 14, concluded on March 15, 2026. Of the 18 couples who registered, 17 were able to complete the entire program, and it was with great joy that we saw each of them express a desire to go further by committing to the CANA Mission.
From 29 April to 4 May 2026, we had the grace to participate in the CANA Hong Kong Fraternal Life Retreat at Salesian Retreat House, Cheung Chau, Hong Kong. It was a deeply meaningful and enriching experience for both of us, not only as husband and wife, but also as members of the wider CANA family.
From April 30 to May 2, 2026, the CANA Mission of the Chemin Neuf Community in Senegal organized its third couples’ retreat at the Bois des Manguiers in the Benedictine Monastery of Keur Moussa. This fraternal and spiritual gathering brought together 17 couples and 26 children in a peaceful setting conducive to renewal.
For some, “Happy Easter” first brings to mind a chocolate egg hunt: parents hide the eggs, children search for them eagerly, and treasure the fruits of their quest. But behind these wonderful shared family joys lies a profound question: what are we really looking for? Whom are we seeking?
It has been almost three years since we launched CANA in this beautiful country, Portugal, encouraged by the fruitful connections we made while preparing for World Youth Day.
Among the team and participants, Lutherans and Baptists made up the majority. It was a positive experience in terms of ecumenism and the presence of other denominations within the Community.
For a week, the CANA International team gathered at La Cartuja, a retreat center for couples and families, to hold our latest CANA International team meeting. For some, it was a joy to return to this place, which holds such significance in their journey as a community. For others, it was a blessing to discover this place for the first time.
The Lord is truly good, for despite the ravages of war and the intense, constant bombardment affecting the neighborhoods of Beirut, all the registered couples arrived at the door of the community house without hesitation!
