CANA universe

It has been almost three years since we launched CANA in this beautiful country, Portugal, encouraged by the fruitful connections we made while preparing for World Youth Day.

Among the team and participants, Lutherans and Baptists made up the majority. It was a positive experience in terms of ecumenism and the presence of other denominations within the Community.

For a week, the CANA International team gathered at La Cartuja, a retreat center for couples and families, to hold our latest CANA International team meeting. For some, it was a joy to return to this place, which holds such significance in their journey as a community. For others, it was a blessing to discover this place for the first time.

The Lord is truly good, for despite the ravages of war and the intense, constant bombardment affecting the neighborhoods of Beirut, all the registered couples arrived at the door of the community house without hesitation!

In Brazil, we like to say that the year really begins after Carnival. At the start of this year, on March 1, during the 8 a.m. Mass in Belo Horizonte, we experienced a momentous occasion: the first CANA sending forth of a dozen couples who have been involved in the mission for several years.

We give thanks for our trip to the Seychelles, which went very well. We truly experienced that the Lord was going before us in this mission.

In the heart of Morocco's Atlas Mountains, we shared an experience with seven mother-daughter pairs aged between 18 and 65, a timeless adventure, a unique interlude where the beauty of the desert landscapes was matched only by the depth of our bond.
