At CANA, communication is an important dimension of the mission and the talents of the young generation allow us to make the best use of new technologies so that our main message – “taking care of your couple” goes around the world. Florine GOUBY has been in charge of communication for CANA International and CANA France for two years and she is now handing over to Lisa van BEERS for the next two years. Florine and Lisa share their views on CANA.
Thank you, Florine! Welcome Lisa!
Florine GOUBY takes to new skies
My studies end in October and so does my internship with CANA International. I am therefore handing over my role as CANA’s communications officer to Lisa van Beers, who will have a similar status and missions from now on. I am delighted and take this handover to heart in order to train her as well as possible before letting her fly on her own wings and me fly to new horizons.
I arrived at CANA International headquarters over two years ago, in September 2020. During these two years I discovered a religious community with an ecumenical vocation that is more modern than I imagined and above all filled with caring people. I have evolved in a wonderful work environment at the CANA House in Les Pothières, north of Lyon. I learned about Christianity, about the couple, about my couple, but I also learned and developed many skills in the field of communication. These two years at the service of the CANA mission have confirmed my desire to start my career in communication and on a more personal level, have confirmed that my family and my partner are the most precious people to me.
My multiple exchanges with different CANA teams from all over the world made me discover different cultures and thus I developed my openness to the world. I was very lucky to be able to travel to Rome for the CANA International Meeting and thus meet many people with whom I had exchanged during these two years across the barrier of a screen. It also allowed me to take up the challenge of leading a workshop on communication in front of 70 people. I came out of this program better and more experienced to enter the workforce. I know myself better and I am sure that it will help me in my future life.
I strongly encourage the entire CANA International team to continue to develop the CANA mission around the world in order to reach and share the benefits of CANA Week to couples and families everywhere, especially through digital means. I thank them for taking the time to explain each point to me with patience and without judgment since everything was new to me, I also thank them for everything they brought to me, both in my professional and personal life, I will remember this experience for the rest of my life.
It is with great emotion that I leave CANA International, leaving behind a lot of projects and challenges for Lisa! I wish her good luck and all the best!
Florine
Lisa VAN BEERS, new communication officer
My name is Lisa van Beers, I am Ivorian, French, Dutch and Malian! I am 20 years old and I am very happy to start my fourth year of study: a Master’s degree in International Marketing, at INSEEC in Lyon. I am replacing Florine for the next two years, in CANA International and CANA France. I will be present twice a week (Mondays and Tuesdays, and the rest of the week in school), then I will join the team permanently in mid-February. Before this, I graduated with a Bachelor in Online Culture, at Tilburg University, in the Netherlands. During my bachelor studies, I had the opportunity to participate in an exchange program with Seoul, South Korea. It allowed me to get to know myself and learn about a new culture.
CANA and the Chemin Neuf Community has a real place in my heart. My entire childhood, I have seen my grandparents at the service of God through the Community, which is why being part of this team is such an opportunity for me. Not only is this job related to my passions: communication and creation; but it is also a way for me to enter active life, in a welcoming environment. This international axis is a plus for me, being bilingual; and with my love for discovering new cultures, CANA seems to be the perfect mission. I hope to learn even more about communication, as well as grow on a professional and personal level.
I am impatient to work with you to participate to this mission among couples and families with enthusiasm and motivation.
Lisa
