A journey to grow as a couple

After 7 years of progressive deployment, CANA Welcome is preparing to take off on all continents. Thanks to the work, motivation and commitment of the CANA teams in many countries, the program and its communication kit are already available in 10 languages: German, Arabic, French, Italian, Spanish, Latvian, Mandarin, Polish, Ukrainian and Slovakian. Five new languages will soon be available: Hungarian, Lithuanian, Portuguese, Tagalog (Philippines) and Czech.

Texts and photos are adapted to the culture for which they are intended. In Canada, for example, the program is called « CANA Bienvenue ».

In Poland, Ewa & Andrzej DOLNI, the couple responsible for CANA, describe its deployment throughout the country. The original text in Polish can be found below the text translated into English. You can also hear a Polish couple present the program on YouTube.

Accompanying young couples in Poland

In “Amoris Laetitia – The Joy of Love”, Pope Francis invites us to discover love in families. A practical way to discover this love is the CANA Welcome program, which is a tool to accompany couples and spouses in their first years of life together. Through this program, participants can discover the joys of love and learn how to grow as a couple.

Making CANA Welcome known in the country

In Poland, we feel invited by God to generously share this program with the Church and parishes. In 2019, we presented the program at the New Evangelization Congress in Gniezno. This year, Bishop Grzegorz Ryś invited us to present it to the pastors of the Diocese of Lodz. For 3 years, Father Marcin Cytrycki in Opole has been organizing CANA Welcome meetings in his parish. Thanks to these meetings, this year the course “1,2,3… CANA! “can be organized in this parish.

In the west of Poland, couples of the Chemin Neuf Communion have taken the initiative to organize CANA Welcome in their parishes. Thus, 26 couples have committed themselves to a one-year training.

Currently in Poland, CANA Welcome is organized in Wolsztyn, Poznań, Rudna, Rydzyna, Słupsk, Opole, Krakow, Warsaw, Lublin and Mistow. During the pandemic period, meetings are held online or, if conditions permit, in real life.

At the moment we have invited couples from CANA and CANA Welcome to pray together every day on Zoom. We pray daily for the Holy Spirit to pour out on couples and families.

We trust that God will send us to places where the Church can accompany couples in the discovery of joy and the progressive maturity of love.

Papież Franciszek w Amoris Laetitia zaprasza nas do odkrywania miłości w rodzinach.
