After 13 years with us, Gilles and Véronique, leaders of the CANA mission internationally, are leaving for new horizons. They would like to thank you and take this moment to reflect on what they have discovered over the years.
This April, our Sister Marie took a trip to Chad. She had the occasion to film bits and pieces of the trip: CANA Welcome day in N'djamena, Leaders' training in Moundou, and Fraternal Life. We can now travel through the camera and bear witness to the blessings God has given the CANA Chad couples. Bon voyage!
We recently wished all the mothers of France a Happy Mother's Day, and soon it will be the turn of the fathers. To mark the occasion, we wanted to share with you a documentary on the place of fathers in Martinique. It explores the country's history, as well as the pain that the population has endured.
On March 25, 2024, the start of Lent (according to the Julian calendar), the “Growing in Love” retreat for CANA Ukraine couples began. Every Monday evening, some twenty families gathered online on the Zoom platform to take advantage of a wonderful opportunity to deepen their relationship with the Lord and as a couple.
Following the CANA week in summer 23, the CANA Retreat took place in Egypt from the 8th to the15th of April. The Community in Egypt decided to bring together CANA and the youth mission (14/22 year olds) in the same place, so 137 people came together at King Mariut, a Jesuit retreat house that is very suitable in terms of its size, peaceful setting and quality of service.
May 4-5 saw the second CANA weekend in Portugal. Since the first weekend in December, 2 CANA Welcome groups have been launched: one in Setúbal near Lisbon and one in Portimão. A couple is eager to welcome the CANA mission in Porto, so CANA is growing little by little in this beautiful country.
Many years of scouting shaped her - it was there that she discovered her professional vocation, teaching. Internships, including a long spell as a volunteer in Chad working with out-of-school children, strengthened her conviction that education is at the service of dignity. She shares her thoughts with us.
