Once again this year, couples from all over the world have shared with us how they experienced Valentine’s Day with CANA.
From Guadeloupe to Hong Kong, via Germany, Lebanon, Burundi and Mauritius, each testimonial is unique, but they all reflect the same desire: to take some special time together to celebrate their love.
Between candlelight dinners, times of adoration, fraternal celebrations and moments of complicity, these couples seized the opportunity to reaffirm their love for each other and refocus on what’s essential. Here are a few images from these joyful and tender celebrations.
Germany

This year, for the first time, we offered a “candlelight dinner” for Valentine’s Day. The dinner took place in two different locations: in our Lankwitz monastery and in a Protestant community church in Berlin.
The 32 couples were very grateful to experience a deeper vision for their relationship. We expect to see some of them again at the “CANA Days” or the “CANA Week”. Many brothers and sisters from the “Covenant of Communion” and new CANA couples from recent events were present.
Mauritius

It’s with joy and enthusiasm that we’d like to share with you a few photos of the moments experienced during the recent Valentine’s Day activities in CANA Fraternity, both as a couple and in the 1,2,3 CANA sharing group.

Burundi
We’d like to share with you the joy that reigned in the different dioceses on Valentine’s Day.
In the diocese of Muyinga, we played a couples’ game: 4 or 5 women were placed on a bench and a bandage was placed in the face of the husband of one of the women sitting on the bench. The husband had to try to find his wife by touch. All the husbands recognized their wives without any problem!
It just goes to show that no matter what you do, couples recognize each other.
Lebanon

The CANA fraternity in Lebanon celebrated Valentine’s Day with a hotel weekend on February 15 and 16, under the theme “Season of Love”. Inspired by the Song of Songs, the event highlighted the five seasons of love: the four usual seasons, symbolizing the different states couples go through in married life, like the cycle of the seasons, and a fifth, representing the Covenant with God. Forty couples took part in this weekend rich in exchanges, with workshops, testimonies and a Valentine’s Day party. The atmosphere was warm and joyful. The weekend ended with a beautiful mass at the hotel, marking a powerful spiritual moment for all participants.
Guadeloupe

For Valentine’s Day, CANA Guadeloupe invited couples to experience Valentine’s Day differently. Fifteen couples accepted the invitation.
The theme of the evening was the Covenant: God’s covenant at the heart of our covenant as a couple. The sign of the evening was the rainbow: each couple was invited to be photographed under this sign 🌈
It was a beautiful evening!
