From April 30 to May 2, 2026, the CANA Mission of the Chemin Neuf Community in Senegal organized its third couples’ retreat at the Bois des Manguiers in the Benedictine Monastery of Keur Moussa. This fraternal and spiritual gathering brought together 17 couples and 26 children in a peaceful setting conducive to renewal.
The theme chosen for this weekend, “Tenderness and Sexuality,” allowed participants to reflect deeply on the role of love, dialogue, listening, and tenderness in married life. The teachings, times of sharing as couples, testimonies, and moments of prayer fostered sincere and enriching exchanges among the participants.
The weekend was marked by the presence of Sister Marie Bourbonnais, international director of CANA. This was greatly appreciated. The availability and approachability of the weekend’s core team and the ministers toward the couples helped create a warm and fraternal atmosphere.
The children also enjoyed age-appropriate activities, led in a spirit of joy and fellowship. Between teachings, celebrations, relaxation, and fellowship, this weekend was a true time of grace for the families present, who left strengthened in their marital and family commitment..
