A new stage for CANA in Senegal. It is a great joy to see the CANA mission grow in Senegal!
It was with great joy that we experienced the first CANA retreat in Senegal. There were five of us serving: two couples from Côte d’Ivoire and a priest, myself. The retreatants were six couples.
These CANA couples had experienced the CANA week in 2021. There was a need to nurture and introduce these couples to Ignatian spirituality in order to consolidate this nascent fraternity. We had a beautiful retreat, full of gentleness and grace. They appreciated the Ignatian spirituality, which most of them were discovering for the first time.
At the end of the retreat, I was able to introduce the new core group and the new couple in charge, while warmly thanking Wilfried and Rose, who were the pioneers of CANA in Senegal. They allowed this seedbed to develop and germinate. Now Madeleine and Antoine have taken over. We wish them good luck and much boldness with the Holy Spirit.
We continue to pray for CANA Senegal that the Lord will continue his work in this country through this mission.
