In a context marked by intense challenges, the CANA Fraternity in Lebanon has mobilized to offer a space of support and renewal to couples and families. Saïdé and Élie wrote to us to share a day specially designed to keep hope alive for couples and families.
“Dear Brothers,
On Sunday November 3, the CANA Fraternity organized a special day of reflection, support and sharing for couples, under the theme “You are my strength”. This initiative was conceived in response to the current situation in Lebanon and its profound impact on couple and family life. We were delighted to welcome 26 couples and their children.
Three workshops marked the day:
- Couples therapy workshop :
- A moment to invite couples to relax, express their fears and strengthen their mutual connection.
- Spiritual workshop :
- Centered on the biblical passage “Jesus calms the storm”, this workshop addressed the internal tensions caused by external crises.
- Couples workshop on priorities :
- An opportunity to refocus on the couple’s relationship, rekindle positive memories and renew mutual commitments.
Highlights of the day :
- A time of sharing as a couple enabled everyone to reflect on their own contribution to tensions and consider adjustments to reduce moments of crisis. Couples took part in a practical exercise: each noted on a card what they would like to add, take away or improve in their relationship.
- Each couple received a symbolic magnet with the day’s logo, reminding them of God’s central place in their union.
- An inspiring testimony and sharing exercise concluded the day, offering a time of spiritual renewal and introspection.
For the children, a program adapted around “Jesus calms the storm” enabled them to express their emotions and find a place of comfort during this difficult period.
Yours sincerely,
Élie and Saïdé”
A logo has been specially designed for the day.
