On January 2nd, the city of Saint Petersburg resonated with the spirit of a special day-long gathering dedicated to the Holy Spirit. This meeting brought together thirty servants from across the mission in Russia: CANA Moscow, CANA Saint Petersburg, as well as the CANA Welcome, CANA Hope (Espérance), and 18-30 Mission branches.
A Rich and Inspiring Program
Led by Katia and Radek, members of the Community in Poland, the day served as a true spiritual renewal. The schedule offered a balance of profound teachings and moments of fellowship:
- Teachings and Testimonies: Participants delved deeper into the meaning of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. A highlight of the day was a 10-minute recording from Sister Marie, Head of CANA International, who spoke on the vocation and significance of being a missionary couple today.
- Prayer and Listening: Everyone was invited to practice listening to the inner voice of the Holy Spirit. New forms of prayer were explored, including prayer through the body, complementing times of personal prayer and small group sharing.
- Fraternity: On January 3rd, the gathering continued with a visit to two biblical exhibitions co-created by Petia and Zoïa, providing a wonderful time of brotherly connection.
Visible and Lasting Fruits
Despite the demands of travel—particularly for those coming from Moscow—joy was at the heart of the experience. The fruits of this gathering are both numerous and tangible:
“We received peace, joy, and a deep sense of gentleness. Two people received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, and some even testified to a recovery of health and physical strength.”
Beyond personal graces, this event allowed servants from different missions to get to know one another better, strengthening the unity of the CANA family in Russia. For many, the journey to Saint Petersburg represented a significant spiritual step forward.
Let us remain united in prayer for CANA in Russia, asking for clear discernment as they follow the Holy Spirit’s lead in their future projects!
