The first CANA Open House in Hong Kong was a great novelty. Spearheaded by a young and motivated team, the event gave several couples a simple yet profound taste of the CANA experience, with its mix of creation, silence, sharing and prayer.
Time and again, God has turned our imperfections into perfection in His eyes 😊
In Hong Kong, we just had our first ever CANA Open Day in March, organized by the new and sometimes inexperienced leadership team (less than 1 year old!) and beautifully facilitated by an experienced and passionate CANA couple Barry-Cynthia.
To give them a first taster of the CANA experience (which is deep and rich), we have invited each participant to make a palm-sized plaster artwork. Each person was given a mold, embedded with a contemplation of a biblical scene, a bible verse, a symbol or simply just a word from Jesus. After some waiting time for things to dry out, each person then presented the artwork to his/her spouse as a special gift for each other.
So what did people experience at the Open Day? For some couples, this might be their first time in many years: doing one same thing together, in silence, for each other, with Jesus in our mind, sharing with each other a special message received or a feeling experienced, or saying a word of sorry or thank you in front of the group.
The CANA Open Day finished off with an introduction to CANA 123, testimonies by CANA couples, Q&A, and a beautiful prayer for the upcoming CANA 123 happening this summer. We welcomed a total of 10 couples this time.
