In Burkina Faso, the CANA year 2022-2023 has just begun. Two jubilees will be celebrated: the 25th anniversary of CANA and the 50th anniversary of the arrival of the Chemin Neuf Community.

The CANA 2022-2023 pastoral year is launched!

The CANA Fraternity of Burkina has begun the 2022-2023 pastoral year with a series of launches in four dioceses of the country.

On Sunday, October 16, in Ouagadougou at the Notre Dame de Kologh Naba College, 130 couples committed themselves to practice the 7 points of commitment within the CANA Fraternity. They came from the dioceses of Tenkodogo, Ouahigouya, Koudougou, Koupéla and the Archdiocese of Ouagadougou. Joining us at this launch, we welcomed a couple from Chad living in Ouagadougou.

Under a beautiful sun, each participant was able to take time for his or her couple, to pray, and to share with each other. The couples pronounced their prayer of commitment during the Eucharist celebrated by Father Sylvain KABORE from the minor seminary of Pabré. He who gave a beautiful exhortation to the couples on the meaning of commitment.

In Bobo Dioulasso, 23 couples, asking for the Lord’s grace and help, committed themselves to practice the seven points of commitment in the presence of the national leader of the Chemin Neuf Community.

On Sunday, October 23, in the dioceses of Koudougou and Dédougou, 22 couples and 13 couples respectively committed themselves for this pastoral year.

We thank the Lord for these couples who wish to give priority to their life as a couple.

Two jubilees to celebrate

This year 2022-2023 will be a double Jubilee year: what a beautiful perspective! Indeed, this pastoral year is marked by:

May the Lord grant each one the grace to take care of his or her couple.
