In the heart of Morocco’s Atlas Mountains, we shared an experience with seven mother-daughter pairs aged between 18 and 65, a timeless adventure, a unique interlude where the beauty of the desert landscapes was matched only by the depth of our bond.
How fortunate to be able to treat ourselves to a special week with our daughter! What a joy it is to travel among women and feel so supported and cherished. It is a true blessing to revisit the journey of Biblical Women and allow ourselves to be transformed by the Lord, both personally and in our mother-daughter relationship.
We left our “little comfort zone” in France, overcame our apprehensions, and set off to discover Morocco, our daughters, and ourselves. Ready for adventure!
The first highlight for me with Claire, my 22-year-old daughter, was the day of reconciliation; we both felt that we didn’t have many conflicts to resolve; we are very close and our relationship is nourished by a lot of exchanges and confidences. So we decided to give each other three “thank yous.” Claire thanked me for always listening to her, which touched me deeply. For my part, I thanked her for making me a mother: she is my eldest daughter and her birth was a truly magical moment. Even today, she continues to help me grow in my role as a mother through the unique choices she makes. The values she has chosen, which sometimes differ from my own, encourage me to remain open to others and to welcome with kindness and without judgment life choices that are different from my own but are a source of happiness for her!
At the end of the week, the blessing ceremony was also an opportunity to remind her that she was the Father’s beloved daughter, beyond all her questions of faith…
During the trip, our immersion in the heart of Morocco was deeply intense. Meeting the locals, sharing time with our guides, and spending time with extraordinary Moroccan women who opened their doors to us and offered us tea made this trip unforgettable.
During this trip, the Lord worked on my heart regarding the issue of self-confidence and what He expects of me for the future. Thanks to this caring environment, among women, we are led to surrender, accepting to be worked like clay in the potter’s hands.
I give thanks to God for all these beautiful gifts and I hope that many Mother-Daughter DUOs will be able to enjoy this unique experience!
