This month, the CANA Entre-Deux proposal takes us to Egypt, that blessed land that once welcomed the Holy Family. It is there that Youssef and Roset live, married for 11 years and parents of two children, who share with us a concrete proposal to nourish our family lives during this Advent season and for the coming year.
The Invitation: “Two Hours for What Matters Most”
Youssef and Roset challenge us with a simple yet transformative idea: dedicating two hours every week to quality family time, away from all daily distractions. The goal is to establish a true “habit” of family communion.
During these two hours, activities can vary according to your preferences:
- Playing a game or watching a movie together.
- Praying and singing with one heart.
- Sharing what is on each family member’s mind.
Putting Jesus at the Center
Inspired by the Holy Family, the couple emphasizes the importance of making Jesus’ presence visible among us. They suggest placing a powerful symbol at the center of the room:
- A lit candle.
- An icon dear to your home.
- The open Bible.
- Or even an empty chair, reminding us that Christ is our guest of honor during this special time.
Ending in Gratitude
This meaningful time concludes with a prayer of thanks, giving grace to Jesus for inhabiting the moment and for strengthening the family bonds.
May this CANA In-Between be an opportunity for each of you to rediscover the joy of being together, in the image of the Holy Family!
