Reading the letter that Pope Leo XIV has just sent to Bishop Bruno Feillet<sup>1<\/sup> to mark this anniversary, we cannot help but be deeply moved by its message. In it, the Pope speaks with simplicity and tenderness about the beauty of Christian marriage\u2014not as a distant ideal\u2014but as a concrete path to holiness, lived in the heart of everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-normal-font-size wp-elements-14dc1e0d8b5aea7be04a370e6d1afb2c wp-block-paragraph\">What strikes us about Louis and Z\u00e9lie, as we journey in the CANA Mission, is that they were not extraordinary in the world&#8217;s sense. They simply loved God through their ordinary actions, their responsibilities as parents, their joys and their trials. But Pope Leo emphasizes that \u201cthis seemingly \u2018ordinary\u2019 life was filled with the \u2018extraordinary\u2019 presence of God, who was at its center.\u201d Their motto, \u201cGod first served,\u201d says it all. It reveals a faith lived without fanfare, but with a depth and fidelity that can touch each one of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-normal-font-size wp-elements-fd0a1f7d6a6c13d96e682e9d832bf333 wp-block-paragraph\">The Pope reminds us how valuable their example is today, in a world where marriage and family are often put to the test. Looking at them, we understand that holiness is not reserved for religious men and women or \u201cspecial\u201d people: it can be lived in a home, between a husband and wife who love each other, who pray together, who raise their children in the faith, even when life is not easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-normal-font-size wp-elements-de610c286f4f55e43bd2fd50680bad9f wp-block-paragraph\">Every couple can find great hope in their story. It reminds us that holiness is not about being perfect, but about loving, persevering, and putting God first. The Pope invites us to do this: to put Jesus back at the center of our families, to live each day as an opportunity to love more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-normal-font-size wp-elements-16099dd4b76ab0ab69f4dc04fc1a1b2d wp-block-paragraph\">At the end of his letter, Leo XIV entrusts all families to the protection of Louis and Z\u00e9lie, as well as to St. Th\u00e9r\u00e8se. And as we read it, we are invited to do the same: to ask them, in the silence of prayer, to help us love as they did\u2014simply, faithfully, and holily. Yes, let us be inspired by this \u201cluminous and inspiring model for generous souls\u201d that is the holy couple, Louis and Z\u00e9lie Martin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-dark-gray-color has-beige-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color has-small-font-size wp-elements-3394a057bbf8b0d5a74dacb070c7aa0d wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>1<\/sup><em>For those wondering why the Pope wrote to this particular bishop: the town of Alen\u00e7on, where the Martin couple lived, is located in the diocese of S\u00e9ez.
