The fall of the Wall had been preceded in East Germany by the so-called \u201cpeaceful revolution\u201d, a movement that began mainly in East German Protestant churches with prayers and rallies. At the same time, the first CANA week in Germany was taking place in West Berlin, with Sister Ruth Lagemann also taking part.
